Faith Lutheran is located in Albany in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon. We are a friendly community of believers in Jesus Christ, rooted in the Lutheran tradition. We invite you to worship with us - all are welcome. Our church is at the corner of Queen and Elm in Albany, near Memorial Middle School and West Albany High School.

Haiti Earthquake Relief

On January 12th a magnitude 7.0 earthquake rocked the island country of Haiti, affecting millions of residents, and taking a devastating toll on life and property.

Book of Faith

The Book Of Faith journey is an initiative of the ELCA "to increase Biblical literacy and fluency for the sake of the world ". Join the adult education hour for scripture focused Bible studies.

Interim/Call Process Update

Steps taken to date
  • Aug 16, 2009 Pastor Dawn presented an introduction to the interim period.
  • Nov 15, 2009 "Job description" and form for nominating call committee members was distributed at a Congregational meeting.
  • Jan 3, 2010 was the deadline for turning in nomination forms.
  • Jan 10, 2010 a list of candidates was made available.
  • Jan 17, 2010 special congregational meeting held to elect the call committee.

Opportunities

Cornerstone The Cornerstone Youth Center is open Monday through Friday 2:30 - 5:30 at the corner of Queen & Elm. We continue to need adult supervisors. If interested contact Jason Barrett, Pastor Dawn or the church office.
Parish Education Committee invites anyone interested in joining them to please contact John Collet at 541-974-5267 or email John.
Flower Chart is posted on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. You are invited to sign up by the dates you wish to provide flowers in celebration of a special occasion or in memory of a loved one.
Sound System Operators needed If you are high school age or older and have an interest in working with our sound system contact the church office or Bob Buswell to sign up. You will receive training and be assigned to a time slot when you are ready.
Camp Lutherwood

Lutherwood Update

In August we celebrated Camp Lutherwood’s 50 years of ministry to youth and young adults, and congregations in Oregon and southwest Washington. However, the camp finds itself at a major financial crossroad as it considers its direction for the future.

Bob Buswell, Nona Sabatka, and John Collet attended a stakeholder's meeting on Nov 8. Voting delegates at the meeting (1 pastor 2 lay delegates per church) voted 39-1 to keep Lutherwood going. Lutherwood's board will organize a task force that over the next 6 months will look at ways of reorganizing to make Lutherwood a vibrant, forward moving organization providing outdoor camping opportunities to renew and develop campers' Christian faith.
